This page is a little bit of a work in progress. Hopefully, it'll look better before the semester starts! In the meantime, check out the below for some basic team info, summer fitness schedules, and other helpful rookie advice!:)

What do I need to play rugby?
Yerself and a pair of cleats. We also recommend you buy a pair of spandex for wearing under rugby shorts, but aside from that, the team provides the rest! We have shorts, socks, uniform, and mouthguard. Gotcha covered

I've never played a sport before, how do I prepare!?
The best thing to do is to spend a little bit of your time this summer gettin' your fitness on. Don't worry, it's not required, but it does help you hit the ground running. Not sure how to do that?

No worries, our fitness captain Pauline has advice!

To begin, get a workout in three times a week, 30 minutes each. This will make all the difference, trust me. I recommended going to a nearby track, but use the neighborhood if that's the most available resource. If it's near stairs, that would be great.
1. For a warm-up jog 2 laps, or .5 a mile.
2. Stretch yourself out: legs, arms, back, etc.
3. For two more laps, sprint the straights and jog the curves. After, jog 2 more laps without stopping in between. However, you can continue to sprint/jog these last two laps if youre up to it.
4. Stretch again if you need to, but move on to ab exercises. Try 100 bicycles or the Pilates crunches (15). Or both!
5. Do 30 jumping jacks---rest 30 secs
6. Run up and down stairs/bleachers (I'm looking forward to having a tight butt, I don't know about you!). Do this for a minute.
7. Repeat abs
8. Repeat jumping jacks---30 sec rest
9. Repeat stairs/bleachers---rest 60 secs
10. 10 push-ups
11. REPEAT 3-10

If that looks a bit beyond you right now, just ease into it! Start with 1 and add on gradually. For those of you who've got this covered, no sweat, turn into our facebook page for updates on workouts Pauline will be emailing the team all summer!
