the polar express by chris van allsburg this is a must have for christmas celebrators. heralded by many as a modern christmas classis, the polar express shares the magic and mystery of christmas and santa claus with the reader. this is a story of a young boy who takes a magical midnight train on christmas eve to the north pole. when the train arrives, the boy is chosen by santa to recieve the first gift of christmas. he choses a silver bell off of santa's sleigh. the beautiful sound of the bell is magical, for only those who truly believe can hear its sweet sound.

chris van allsburg is perhaps my most favorite illustrator. this book truly showcases his talent as both a story teller and an artist. check it out as soon as you can if you don't know the book!
