Montreux Jazz Festival

One Saturday we took a train up to Montreux for the famous jazz festival. It was raining when we got there -- here's Shawn, Jeff, Chris, Gordan, and Corry in the drizzle.

In the morning we walked over to Chateau de Chillon, a castle built many hundreds of years ago. You can see it here behind Gordon.

Here's me outside the castle, waiting for everyone to catch up.

Shawn, Jeff, Gordon, Corry, Chris and me in the basement of the castle. Byron wrote some poem about a prisoner who was stuck here for a long time, and he also scratched his name in one of the pillars.

I had to take a picture of the boys by the armor. Here's Jeff, Shawn, and Chris.

Me on one of the decks outside the castle.

The lovely view of Montreux from the roof. Note that it's beginning to look a lot sunnier. :)

After touring the castle, we walked back down by the lake...

...and had a picnic lunch.

We thought this candy bar was appropriate for Jeff.

We went to see a solo guitar concert inside a very ritzy hotel, and then we sat by this stage outside for a while. It didn't seem much like jazz, but it was fun, and the food was yummy ... even if you had to trade in your Swiss francs to get "Jazz" money.
