Annecy

On Sunday, Corry and I went to Annecy, which was quite charming and wonderfully relaxing. One of the first things we did was split this enormous pain au chocolat. Mmm.

Annecy has a number of canals in the old part of town, all surrounded by gorgeous buildings and flowers. There were quite a few swans and ducks swimming around.

Here's Corry at a little cafe where we had coffee and orange juice. There were a number of men having beer there, at around 11 in the morning.

We walked through a lovely garden to the lake, where there were a number of people boating. It was a gorgeous day.

We meandered our way south to Plage des Marquisats. It wasn't a beach like I'm used to -- there was grass, and the water wasn't salty or rough or full of jellyfish. And there were quite a few topless women, and more grown men in Speedos than you'd ever see in America. We went swimming and relaxed and wrote postcards and had a fabulous time.

Corry and I both posed by the swan in the water.

We had a lovely dinner at a creperie that was next to this canal -- I had a gallette (salty crepe) with ham, eggs, tomato, mushrooms, and cheese, and we split a crepe chocolat for dessert. Then we had someone take our picture on this bridge before returning to the bus stop. We made sure to get there nice and early, since we didn't want a repeat of our Lyon adventure. :)
