Each of these insects have two pairs of wings.  It should be noted that the wasp (hymenoptera) and the mayfly (ephemeroptera) DO have two pairs of wings, although the hind pair are much smaller than the front pair.  Other insects, such as the butterfly (lepidoptera) have wings that are similar in size and shape.  This distinction will come in handy later on.
