Music From Other Parts of the World

Okay, I know it sounds cheesy, but I actually took a class called "Encounters with the "other"." It dealt with the influences of Eastern music on Western music for the most part. Anyway, I really got into South Asian music from India and Bali. I wrote my final paper on the influence of Ravi Shankar on the Beatles and it was actually one of the most interesting papers i've done research for...yes the work was almost fun! :-) So if you haven't ever heard this music you should definitely check it out!
