During my down time last summer, I did a bit of web-surfing and decided it was time I made some kind of record of the good stuff I've found. Each link has my reasons for surfing there and my favorite thing about the site. They are currently not in any particular order, but as this grows I'll try to find some way to organize, categorize, alphabetize them. Not that I'm compulsive about that sort of thing...
- The Star Wars Countdown It has opened, I've seen it multiple times, but these people still have some of the most up to date news flashes...
- The Internet Movie Database: This site has information about nearly any movie, actor, director, write you can think of, plus some other neat features like Quote of the Day and the Daily Movie news. I spend loads of time here looking up many different things, especially those random supporting actors I can never seem to find information on anywhere else.
- X files: After being rather on the fringes of this show for a while, with lots of friends telling me about it and and episode watched here and there, this summer I've become full-fledged dedicated to watching this show - and spent a lot of time web-surfing on the topic too.
- IMDB X files entry is probably the page on that site that I frequent most often. I like looking up supporting cast I liked and the simple list of episodes.- Stephen Whitfield has a terrific guide to sites on the web that I find incredibly useful.
- Mulderisms is a complete and frequently updated site with quotes organized by season and episode, plus rankings for each one. I think I spend most of my x-files web-time on this site.- Friends: Many friends have added their small touch to the webworld and I check up on them every once in a while to see what they've been playing with lately...
-Jove has established himself in California, and is just starting into all this web business. His Star Wars Collection is incredible - I doubt if I shall ever see its equal.-Dom was on the web long before me - his pages are numerous and interesting, although not updated too frequently anymore... Make sure to look at his thesis about the meaning of science fiction is very cool.
-Liz Vallen, my favorite professor (and good friend) at Swarthmore has a new website created by two more of my friends, Kirsten and Claudia.
- A capella: Since I arrived at college I have fallen in love with a capella music. A couple of my favorite groups have websites...
- Sixteen Feet is a Swarthmore all-male a capella group on campus that holds a special place because I'm friends with many of the members and alums. They haven't updated in a long while, but I still hope... you can also check out Dom's Feet pages for the reason I orignally loved the group.
- The Brown Derbies sang at Swarthmore last spring and they are incredible, both as performers and singers. Their page has lots of sounds and is uusually updated frequently. I'm hoping they'll come are way again this year...
- Diana: The Other.
