11 November The day of the bat....
So I come into the studio this morning and head to the shelf where the
Celtic CDs are kept. At the end of the shelf is a stack of CDs that I use
most, but this morning, there's a small, brown ball leaning up against the
stack. One little claw clings to a CD. Oh dear, I say, peering closer, A
bat!
What do I do now? I've got about 3 minutes before I go on the air. So I
fetch my sweater, wrap the little fellow up (he doesn't move), and carry
him to the open window in the studio. An attempt to gently dislodge him is
quite useless; he clings to my sweater, one black beady eye open. He's
awfully cute! "Fine," I
say, and go off to fetch my CDs. I come back, say to the other DJ, "Has he
flown off yet, Dan?"
"Nope. I think he fell asleep again."
"Hm. Um, well.... Wake up, you silly little thing! I want my sweater
back!"
Finally, with a bit more prodding, he flits off suddenly. And that, my
friends, makes a very exciting morning up on Parrish 5th!
