Yesterday was a bad day. A bad, bad day. Today is better. =)

I'm up to my ears in work, work, work! I vascillate between the calm feeling that everything will manage to get done and the PANIC that there is no way I'll have time to finish everything. And I procrastinate.

On a brighter note, I found a summer job!!! Working with organic polymers in Coleen Pugh's lab in Ann Arbor - I'm really excited and it takes some of the stress out of my days. We'll see how the rest of the semester turns out...

Parents' Weekend is just wrapping up her at Swat - incredible the amount of good food that suddenly issues from the dining hall when there are suddenly a bunch of parents wandering around. On friday The Quad had a good time showing "Noises Off" to a bunch of friends, with lots of chocolate chip cookies and popcorn with hazlenut oil (mmmmm...) Yesterday I spent a considerable amount of time sleeping - I hope it'll last me the rest of the week! Now it's onward with that english paper...

I just found out that I was accepted to be a Writing Associate! YEAH! Now I can finish planning the rest of my schedule and get on with the business of passing all my classes. =)

QUAD NEWS FLASH --- The entire quad actually managed to defy the housing gods (who have frequently frowned on them in the past) and obtain their blocks for next year! That's right, the entire quad is transplanting itself to Dana next year! No more walking through the cold late at night to get back to my room! Windowseats! Singles! =)

Spent two and a half hours last night putting together the Photo Club's brand spanking new C760 Omega Dichro Enlarger - a thing of true beauty. Managed not to break anything or end up without parts left over (whew!) Didn't get to sleep until 3am, but who cares about sleep when we have dial-in contrast? I have a feeling that I'll be getting a lot less sleep now that Photo Club is actually going on - lotsa workshops to plan and maitenance to take care of. *sigh* what we do for art.

Had a rather crazy weekend hanging around with Sixteen Feet at their 16th year alumni reunion and not doing enough work. My previous hypothesis was confirmed - it's not just the current Feet who are crazy, it's a group trend. I can't believe they learned "Sixteen Candles" in 45 minutes! It's ridiculous! Unbelievable! Unfair! I did have fun feeding off their infectious energy, though. And the singing... mmmm...

I'M A BIO MAJOR!!!! Just received my acceptance letter today - brightened up an otherwise incredibly stressful week. A half over week, however, which is making it better all the time.

Several rather interesting pranks were played in honor of April Fool's Day yesterday, including a rather entertaining (and complex) Canadian takeover of Swarthmore, and the removal of the seats from Dupont lecture hall. A much more creative and fun effort than last year. Two thumbs up.

Today is just one of those days when life is just sweet. This morning I photographed a terrific gel for Cell lab, and lecture just rocked - two thumbs up, Liz! It is absolutely beautiful outside and I joined the masses on Parrish lawn this afternoon to read in the sunshine. I'm hoping the whole weekend turns out as great as today.

Went to the awesome Toe Jam invitational acappella concert tonight in LPAC. Sixteen Feet hosted Oberlin Obertones, U of Illinois Xtension Chords, and Stanford Fleet Street Singers - the last two of which I thought were particularly fantastic. An hour and a half of incredible acappella, followed by an awesome party in Paces - what more can I say? It was a good night.

Well, here I sit in front of my trusty computer with half of an english paper written and precious little will power to finish it. I went to Puckers tonight because it was the last night and I'm sick of writing this paper. It was awesome, and even though I can barely skate I did manage to score on Evan which was very cool. The power and rush of speeding around the ice are strangely not diminished by the fact that I can't really stop without falling. Funny, that.

I've been off the web for a while - busy with work and fun! Spring break is wrapping up this weekend, and although I have done some work there still seems to be so much left!

Current shenanigans include a spontaneous trip to NYC to watch Sting at Madison Square Garden on the 5th, a second trip to the city to visit friends and kick around for a couple days, and the all important trip to see Jedi!

For now, however, I must get back to my Cell Bio paper...

My personal computer is finally on the net! This update marks the first made from the comfort of my very own room! I see much procrastination in my future.

This past weekend has been a pit of Organic Chemistry despair - an exam last night that I survived by the skin of my teeth (maybe) plus a report and lab preparation for today. The grades will only hint at the suffering.
